Minimize space wasters in your luggage with comfortable, multi-purpose shoes. The best shoes for a traveling man to take on a journey, are city smart and country casual at the same time, as well as being super comfy for leisure walking. Being able to slip them on and off easily for airport security is a bonus too. These men's travel shoes are among the best shoes for journeys that I've seen recently. Most come in black and brown.
And here's a tip: Don't pack space eating hiking boots. Buy serious hiking boots-for serious hill and fell walking-after you arrive, from a local supplier who understands local conditions.

Magellan'sClarks call this the "UN" shoe because it is so unstructured that you can slip them right on and head out; no breaking in required. Thei're flexible with soft leather uppers, a lambskin lining and rubber soles. Plus, Clarks are so proud of the way their circulating air system keeps feet cool and dry, they've even made a
video about it.
An easy on and off style makes them convenient for airport security as well as long distance travel comfort. And the styling is so simple and neutral, they'll take you out to a city dinner or round country lanes with equal style.

Magellan'sI can't vouch for this myself but the maker of these softies, of nappa leather, lined with lambskin, claim they feel like slippers on your feet. Yet they have enough arch support and a shock absorbing latex sole, that you can comfortably wear them all day long - as good looking with jeans as with smarter slacks - and on into the evening. Two elastic gores make them easy to slip on and off at airport security.

FootsmartThere is nothing high style about Hush Puppies but who cares? When it comes to good, comfortable, all-purpose walking shoes for men, they've just about got it covered. These are light, soft and easy to wear with a rubber outsole and a cushioned, contoured removable footbed to absorb shock. The hook and loop closure allows you to adjust for a customized fit. And, let's face it, unless you are planning to go to a ball at Buckingham Palace, you can really takes these anywhere.

FootsmartSome men don't feel properly shod without lace-up shoes. These light weight, classic Oxfords from Hush Puppies fill the bill. A bit of moc type stitching around the front gives them just enough casual cred. Their shock absorbing outsole minimizes foot fatigue and removable EVA footbeds are soft and cool. They have a thick, padded tongue and collar for extra comfortable fit and an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial lining - and important feature for travel shoes that you might be wearing for two solid weeks.

FootsmartDesigned to alleviate pressure on sensitive areas of the foot these look like classic Oxfords but they come with two extra, full length orthotic inserts (2mm and 3mm thick) to customize fit. They can be used together, with or without the removable, self-molding, polyurethane insole. To accommodate all this support and cushioning, the shoes have extra width in the midfoot and toe box as well as added depth.
With all their foot pampering detail and structure these are a good looking, smart/casual style, multi-purpose traveling style.

PriceGrabberEcco, the Danish shoe company, are right up there with the best of them when it comes to comfort and support. What I like about these is that they cross the line between casual and city wear. Soft polished leather, in black or cognac, gives them a sophisticated edge - yet in their heart of hearts, they are clearly sneakers or sport shoes - a great crossover look from a maker who pampers active feet very well.

PriceGrabberUpdated and sporty these were designed for casual workplaces or any place where a man might spend a lot of time on his feet. The rugged, oiled leather lace up gives plenty of support - with a padded tongue and ankle collar for extra comfort and textured leather uppers for a knockabout, touring shoe. Yet there are those few extra styling details - the center front seam for example, that make them subtly interesting for a casual night out. They're meant to be worn for hours - sounds like the ideal resume for a traveller's schedule.

PriceGrabberThis is another one of those clever shoes designed along the lines of a sneaker or dance shoe. Its narrow profile looks smart enough to almost pass for a dress shoe. But its packed with cushioning and padding for comfort, plus an anti-bacterial lining. And the leather is finished for abrasion resistance - so if you have to climb over a stile or brush through the tall grass beside a cattle grid, a quick wipe with a cloth and your shoes will be ready for a night out.

PriceGrabberThe perfect shoe from a trip to the UK where, lets face it, it rains an awful lot. It looks like a moderately dressy shoe, has all kinds of technical goodies inside - a "dynamic suspension DMX foam chamber, whatever that is - but its best feature is that it is water resistant. Rockport's "Hydro-Shield" constructed leather upper keeps your feet dry. So no more squelching along through wet grass after a typical English cloudburst, Welsh leaf trembler or Scottish mist. What a good idea - leave the rubber overshoes at home.

Price GrabberPossibly the dressiest shoe of this bunch, this shoe is still pretty versatile with lots of ergonomic features built in for comfort. It has a shock-absorbing footbed and a full-grain leather upper plus a polyurethane outsole for traction.
The styling is what the British call smart/casual. But the English shoemaker, Clarks, is very comfort oriented. They've even made this shoe very lightweight to reduce - can you believe it - "footlift load." So, if you are doing a lot of city and town sightseeing, your feet can take whatever pace you set. Maybe this isn't one for tramping across meadows, but it will hold its own for most other travel situations. I like its funky wide toes and extra stitch detailing too.
