With just three guest bedrooms, a stay at Greta House is like being a house guest in the home of an elegant and generous friend.
Carefully chosen fabrics and top quality linens make the Victorian bedrooms both welcoming and comfortable. There are fluffy dressing gowns and plump pillows if you want to relax in your room. But if the downstairs sitting room caught your eye on the way in, perhaps you’d prefer to curl up on the sofa there and browse through the latest magazines.
Just five minutes walk down the hill takes you to the center of Barnard Castle with its historic buildings, ruined castle, some wonderful walks along the River Tees, plus pubs and restaurants.

Wherever you dine in the evening, make sure you have an appetite for breakfast. In keeping with the rest of the house, the breakfast room is pleasingly dressed with fine linen and good china.
