Guide Review - Bed and Breakfast at Greta House, Barnard Castle, Northeast England
Carefully chosen fabrics and top quality linens make the Victorian bedrooms both welcoming and comfortable. There are fluffy dressing gowns and plump pillows if you want to relax in your room. But if the downstairs sitting room caught your eye on the way in, perhaps youd prefer to curl up on the sofa there and browse through the latest magazines.
Just five minutes walk down the hill takes you to the center of Barnard Castle with its historic buildings, ruined castle, some wonderful walks along the River Tees, plus pubs and restaurants.
Don't skip breakfast
Wherever you dine in the evening, make sure you have an appetite for breakfast. In keeping with the rest of the house, the breakfast room is pleasingly dressed with fine linen and good china. Whatever you choose a particularly delicious full English breakfast or perhaps some smoked salmon and scrambled eggs is cooked to order and cheerfully served.
